You can always tell the significance of an area by the businesses that choose to move there and La Quinta is getting a lot of significant businesses along it’s Highway 111 corridor.

La Quinta is the site of California’s first “Super” Walmart. It has a Home Depot, Lowes, several Starbucks, Best Buy, Circuit City, Staples, Office Depot, Target, Bed, Bath & Beyond, Trader Joes to name a few and Costco and Office Max will be completed in the next few months. La Quinta enjoys a wide range of restaurants from fast food to high gourmet and a number of resorts and hotels.

The Silver Rock Resort public golf complex has one championship course already in operation and is planning on a second along with a high-end hotel and a shopping district to match.

Old Town”, a new development of shops and restaurants located in the heart of the village help make La Quinta a unique destination in the Coachella Valley. In La Quinta, you have the convenience of the big box stores along with the smaller, boutique style shops and restaurants.

The population of La Quinta is growing at a rate of about 110% per each 10 years. This should put the number of residents at about 49,000 in 2010. The large number of “baby boomers” that are nearing retirement age and are searching for a great place to spend their life supports this growth rate. More La Quinta statistics are available from “wikipedia”.

There is a large variety of communities to live in, from a wide range of real estate developments including gated and non-gated golf communities built around a golf course as well as non-golf communities. There is a range of apartments and condominiums to single-family homes ranging in price from $200,000 and up.
